Meet Michael 👋

Owner of Ross Reclamation and usually somewhere in the yard keeping things ticking along.

Michael started Ross Reclamation in 2020 after spotting the need for a local reclamation yard. He’s been around reclaimed materials all his life, learning the trade from his father, and built the yard through steady hard work rather than any fuss.

If you’ve ever rung the yard, there’s a good chance you’ve spoken to him — often while loading stock, sorting materials or heading out on a delivery. He’s not one for the spotlight and prefers to just get on with the job, usually accompanied by a dry sense of humour that catches people out and quietly makes them smile.

Builders and trades trust Michael because he gives honest advice, keeps things simple, and knows his materials inside out. No sales talk — just straight answers and help when you need it.

Pepper may welcome you first, but Michael is quietly behind it all, making sure things are done properly, day in, day out.

Brockhampton Estate. From Yard to Site: Reclaimed Building Materials in Use.

We are incredibly proud to have supplied reclaimed stone tiles for the Grade I listed Manor House at the National Trust’s Brockhampton Estate in Bromyard.

Lower Brockhampton Manor is one of the finest surviving examples of a late medieval timber-framed house, dating back to the late 14th century. Surrounded by its original moat and paired with a striking 16th-century brick gatehouse, the building reflects centuries of amazing evolution, with details showing medieval craftsmanship, to later Tudor additions, all rooted firmly in traditional materials and local character.

Using reclaimed stone in a building like this feels especially fitting. Materials with history, texture and age, helping to protect and preserve a place that has stood for over 600 years.

Huge credit to Treasure and Son LTD, the skilled contractors entrusted with the work. Their care, knowledge and respect for historic buildings really shows, and it’s a privilege to see reclaimed materials given a second life in such an important setting.

Most people expect to meet a man when they arrive at a reclamation yard, but here they’re often greeted by Irina; usually in the middle of doing something practical, hands-on and sometimes unexpected.

Irina gets on with whatever needs doing, whether that’s lifting, loading, sorting, grading & stacking or helping customers find exactly what they need. She’s very capable, organised, grounded, knowledgeable and knows the yard inside out. She's the reason everyone tells us our reclamation yard is the tidiest they have visited. She's our very own Wonder Woman.

So if you pop in and see Irina on the forklift, that’s just a normal day here. You’re in good hands!
